The athletes, currently housed at Milele Hotel in South C have further complained over unavailability of sporting gears, including running shoes.

The athletes fumed further after Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa failed to turn up for a meeting they had scheduled.

Athletes get Sh1500 and Sh20,000 per day during camps locally and internationally respectively.

Athletes had waited for the CS for over two hours from 10 am before they were informed he was engaged elsewhere.

The CS was reportedly summoned to Statehouse, skipping the meeting with the athletes in Nairobi.

He was meant to travel to Nakuru as well to meet the boxing team, which has pitched tent in the town.

The team has also complained over unavailability of training gears, saying they do not have gloves and other boxing gear.
