Athletics Kenya is probing claims that junior girls are molested at a camp in Keringet, Nakuru county.
AK said the investigations are at an advanced stage after complains arose from the camp.
The association said they are committed to ensure that young girls’ training is protected.
“We will get to the bottom of the matter to ensure our girls are training in safe environment,” AK said in a statement.
AK assured that culprits will be prosecuted to serve as an example to other coaches operating in other camps.
"Nurturing young athletes must be given priority and no one should take advantage of their naivety to destroy their careers and future. We will soon announce the next move once investigations are complete,” the statement read further.
“We are not just going to stop there. Those found guilty will have to face the full force of the law and be banned from all our activities for life," AK noted.
The organization revealed that tough rules for the setting of camps in the country will be released to prevent such cases in future.
“Camps must set proper structures to meet the threshold and members of the public should report to AK any suspicious behaviors in any of the camps across the country ,” AK said
