Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has condemned the attack on Mvita parliamentary hopeful Mohamed ‘Tenge’ Salim family on Sunday.
Tenge's home in Mombasa's Majengo Sega area was attacked by unknown people shortly after escorting Deputy President William Ruto to the airport.
In a Facebook post published on Awiti's official page on Tuesday, the legislator described the attack as 'a sign of political immaturity and hooliganism.'
"When leaders seeking elective positions start to use youths to destroy property and cause chaos, it is a sign of political immaturity. We condemn in the strongest terms such acts of hooliganism," the post said.
Tenge was among the politicians who had attended a political rally at Tononoka grounds on Sunday.
The rally was graced by DP William Ruto and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
