COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has proposed former Senator David Musila among the 10-member committee that should end the Raila-Uhuru supremacy battle.
According to Atwoli, Musila is among Kenyan Political veterans that can calm the volatile political situation in Kenya. He warned that if this is ignored, Kenya might go the 07/08 route.
During the 2008 post-election violence, more than 0.6 million Kenyans were internally displaced while 1,300 were killed. This was because of power wars between Raila Odinga and Mwai Kibaki.
Others included in the Atwoli committee are former AG Amos Wako, Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, former State House controller Abraham Kiptanui, Raila's brother Oburu Odinga, Hassan ole Kamwaro, former Senator Zipporah Kittony, Philip Masinde, Rashid Sajjad and Phoebe Asiyo.
"I want to remind these politicians that dialogue is not necessarily about power-sharing. All leaders should sit and deliberate on the way forward. Let them take a break and reflect on occurrences of 2007/8 and see if that is the route they wish we take as a country,” Atwoli said.
