Outspoken secretary-general of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Francis Atwoli has pulled a 180 that has left scores of Kenyans confused.
Hardly a fortnight ago, Atwoli said that he would never support Musalia Mudavadi after he, alongside Kalonzo and Wetangula, gave Odinga's January 30 swearing-in a wide berth.
Today, Atwoli said that he would support Mudavadi's presidential ambitions in spite of his earlier position not to do that.
''I was speaking on my own behalf. It was my own position and not the position of the Luhya community. We all know that Musalia is the leader of our community. We still have faith in him,'' Atwoli said.
Mr. Atwoli was speaking today in Khwisero during a meeting at his home designed to chart the course of the Luhya community ahead of 2022.
Musalia had come under heavy criticism after his conspicuous absence from the mock inauguration of Raila Odinga.
