Speaking in an interview on JKL Wednesday, Atwoli said that on most occasions, unseating an incumbent administrator becomes a headache as they drive their roots deep into the soil once in power to guarantee their stay in the positions.

He said that Oparanya has shown that he is a good and able leader and is most likely to be re-elected as compared to Khalwale who will be taking a first shot at the position.

''Oparanya is an incumbent and on most occasions unseating a sitting leader becomes a tough job.Khalwale neeeds to do a lot of overwork to achieve his ambition,'' said Atwoli who also hails from the Luhya region.

He however maintained that Khalwale too is a good leader who can as well take the county over but he will have to dedicate himself to prove his worth.

''I like Khalwale, he is a very bold and brave leader and reminds me of Martin Shikuku, he can do it through overtime work,'' he said.

The two are set to battle it out for the position alongside other aspirants in the approaching general polls slated for August 8.

Governor Oparanya will be defending the seat on the Orange Party ticket.
