According to the  COTU boss, a change of the constitution will bring peace in the country because it will make sure there is an equitable distribution of power.

Speaking during COTU-K meeting at the COTU headquarters in Nairobi, Mr. Atwoli warned the deputy president of dire consequences in his presidential bid if he won't heed the call.

Mr. Atwoli, therefore, urged Mr. Ruto to instead spearhead the call because failure to change the constitution there will be no peace after 2022 election and this might affect running of the country.

"He can only govern this country when there is peace. He should, in fact, be on the front line advocating for this change. But if you dismiss me you are dismissing me at your own peril. Am not a politician but you will remember me," warned Mr. Atwoli.

However, the deputy president and his camp have of late been campaigning against referendum continue with his 'NO' then the wave will sweep him

The presidential system of government, unlike a parliamentary system, is viewed by political analysts as an all-inclusive system of governance.

Therefore, a referendum is expected to bring regional balance in the distribution of power in the country as it will make communities feel included in the governance of the country.
