The Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli has lashed out at Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for engaging in acts that threaten the unity of the Luhya nation.''Honourable Eugene Wamalwa is a very respected young man in western Kenya. I am not sure whether the CS is panicking over the impending nomination of cabinet secretaries. I was the guest of honour in the Maragoli Cultural Festival in Vihiga at Mbale.
And to speak the truth, the CS was not invited and if he was invited he should have called the patron, the convener of the festival Honourable Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi,'' Atwoli said. The straight-shooting COTU boss made the utterances during an interview with a leading local television station.Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa was ejected this week from the Maragoli Cultural Festival by an irate crowd.Atwoli hit out at Eugene for playing what he called ''childish politics''.
