COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has lashed out at Kenya Airways CEO Sebastian Mikosz for sourcing senior staff at KQ from Poland.Mikosz has hired five executive from Poland in a major shakeup at the national carrier. However, the decision seems to have brushed Atwoli the wrong way, accusing the CEO of failing to safeguard the interests of Kenyans."Even if Kenyan banks have mobilised funds to save the airline, the funds come from taxpayers,” said Atwoli in a press release on Thursday.Atwoli further noted that there are Kenyans who are qualified for the positions and should have been given priority.“Kenya Airways, being a national carrier and a major brand promoter of our country, should also have the face of Kenya in its diversified executive," he stated."It is totally unacceptable for the CEO to hire managers from his former employer LOT Polish Airlines. Mikosz must read the legal requirements of qualifications and nationalities of who qualifies to be employed by Kenya Airways," he added.
