Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has dismissed Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's claims that Jubilee financed last Saturday's ceremony at Bukhungu Stadium where ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi installed the Luhya Community spokesperson.
In a statement on Friday, Atwoli maintained that he sponsored the selection process and ceremony with his own money, contrary to Wetangula's claims that Jubilee had a hand in the process.
“Such claims are, to say the least, laughable and simply ridiculous and can only be attributed to a person in a serious state of panic,” Atwoli said.
“How would Jubilee benefit from such an event when the very individual being installed is a competitor out to oust them from power?” he added.
The crowning of Mudavadi as the Luhya spokesperson has elicited mixed reactions among a section of the community's leaders, with some rubbishing the coronation.
