Photo: businessdailyafrica.comCotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has said the continued rivalry between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and the Jubilee administration has made the county boss more popular.Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Citizen TV's JKL show, Atwoli said Joho can vie in Nairobi and floor both the incumbent Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko. He added that Joho will still win even if the government locks him up in prison.“You can lock him up but he will win while in there,” said Atwoli.Atwoli further said Uhuru’s handling of Joho has given the Mombasa Governor added advantage, adding that the President has raised Joho to a national figure that threatens the Presidency."Joho is now the talk of town. President Uhuru Kenyatta has raised his political career and popularity. Joho can now come vie in Nairobi and beat Kidero, Sonko anyone else, because he is loved. People love him,” added Atwoli. He advised President Uhuru to emulate former Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi."You remember Kibaki? He never used to answer anybody. You'd talk and talk and talk, but he'll just say 'let them talk, they'll keep quiet'. And that is what was happening. Moi also never engaged in public fights with his juniors. Uhuru should stop degrading himself,'' said Atwoli.
