Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy to prioritize the Konza City dream as they seek to retain power in the forthcoming general polls to provide jobs for Kenyan youths.
Atwoli, who spoke in Uhuru Park during the Labour Day celebrations, asked the current government to ensure that the dream is fulfilled in a bid to create more employment opportunities for Kenyan youths who have been languishing in abject poverty despite the nation having many resources to benefit them.
“You and your deputy are young people. Make sure this is achieved,” said the vocal trade unionist.
Atwoli also called upon Kenyans not to go to the Middle East countries in the name of looking for jobs after incidents of death and mistreatment became rampant.
“Even if we are poor, let’s stay with our daughters and sisters. We should not export modern slavery. Most of our young girls are coming back in coffins,” Atwoli said.
On the leadership of this nation, the Cotu boss said that the race to state house has two major contestants who are cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta. “This time round we have two horses. If you see a third contestant be sure that is a donkey,” Atwoli said.
