COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has once again voiced his opinion on the current political state, calling for dialogue between the two leaders to end the impasse.
According to Atwoli, the country is a tragedy in waiting, and wants IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati to make a decision that will give the country a free and fair election.
“I am standing alone but I’m leading a divided commission, I will say I have postponed the elections (in reference to Chebukati’s situation),” he said.
Speaking in Siaya during a funeral of Caleb Yaya in Bondo Constituency, other leaders present urged the commission to cancel the election and request for more time to plan for the polls.
Raila Odinga, who was also present during the event urged his supporters to boycott the polls, which are slated for October 26.
Raila further warned the governemtn against sending more army troupes to Nyanza region, saying it was unfair since the region is also part of Kenya.
The Jubilee Party has been seriously campaigning for the last one month, as they seek to win after their win was nullified by the Supreme Court in the bungled August polls.
