COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has termed Deputy President William Ruto as the main reason why Jubilee risks losing in the upcoming presidential race.
Speaking on JKL Wednesday, Atwoli said that the DP has failed in his number one role which is to properly advice President Uhuru Kenyatta on national matters.
He said that Ruto is missing the point by standing watch at a time when the President is seemingly stranded as the nation nears a disputed election.
''The Deputy President should be the President's number one adviser but he has failed.He should be now leading the way in advising the President in the ongoing tug of war between election stakeholders,'' said Atwoli.
He further cautioned the DP against attacking opposition leaders, saying that the same is likely to push away supporters.
''Ruto is worsening the situation by attacking the opposition leaders including Raila Odinga.Odinga is equally a big leader commanding a lot of support and influence nationally and his offensive approach towards him is completely misplaced,'' said Atwoli.
