Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli has called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to address the needs of Kenyan workers during this year’s Labour Day celebrations, on May 1.
Atwoli who was speaking at the Cotu headquarters in Nairobi when he met shop stewards, said Uhuru’s re-election will depend on what the government offers the employees.
“We will turn up for the Labour Day celebrations ready to receive what president Uhuru Kenyatta has for us, but he should know that we have problems. We will make our choices depending on what we are offered,” said Atwoli, Sunday.
The Cotu boss also advised the labourers to elect leaders who will look at their welfares.
“We have some leaders in the country who have good deeds and thoughts of Kenyans and I cannot tell anyone who to vote for, but I urge us all to vote for those who have interests of the workers at heart,” Atwoli said.
