Atwoli who spoke on Sunday at the Anglican Church of Kenya St Stephens Church along Jogoo Road said such a wave is too huge to stop that anyone who will dare to resists it will be swept away politically.

He made the remarks in reference to Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani who was present at the prayer session.

"The handshake is not meant to exclude other people," the trade unionist said.

"There is something Mr Cabinet Secretary that has been around for some time. When you see a wave coming, swim with it and find a way of getting out like a victor. But when a wave like the one for Raila and Uhuru is coming and you stand on the way, it will sweep you."

Ever since President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga met at Uhuru's Harambee House on March 9, there has been speculation that the two are angling at working together during the 2022 presidential elections.

Some political analysts have already hinted that Raila may vie for the presidency and will get Uhuru's backing and that Uhuru may serve as prime minister between 2022 and 2027. However, this will only be possible with a Constitutional amendment that will create the prime minister post.
