COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli (left) during the JKL show on Wednesday. He has warned Jubilee against further 'mistreatment' of Raila Odinga and other 'persons of history' [Citizen Digital].Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has castigated the Jubilee party for what he has termed as 'mistreating persons of history'.Atwoli who on Tuesday criticized the Jubilee leadership for alleging that Judiciary was taking sides with the opposition when determining cases touching on the August 8 election, said on Wednesday that the ruling party has been 'hostile' to opponents more so to Nasa flagbearer Raila Odinga. He warned that if Jubilee continue treading on this path, the public support and goodwill they enjoy from a large section of Kenyans may turn against them."You don't appear hostile to your opponents because by doing so, you are arming them. They will get more sympathy and support and leave you on the losing edge. Jubilee has got good leaders but they are hostile. For instance how do you just dismiss somebody like Raila Odinga as 'bure' or 'jamaa wa kitendawili' knowing very well he is a person of history? It is very bad," said Atwoli during the JKL show on Citizen TV.The vocal trade unionist noted that Jubilee needs a 'serious political adviser' so that its leadership knows what to say and where to say it being the party of the President which 'should not fault or be seen to do so'."You cannot have a complete history of Kenya's second liberation without naming Raila and few others. You cannot also talk of the new constitution that Jubilee is using to rule with and again forget Raila. Jubilee should use political diplomacy to fight opponents and they will achieve much more. They must treat the persons of history fairly," Atwoli said.
