Atwoli who spoke on Tuesday at Uhuru Park during celebrations to mark Labour Day said Babu is a young and ambitious young man who needs the support of seasoned politicians in the country.

Babu's election was recently nullified by the court and following the development, there were claims that the nullification was influenced by the executive.

"Hon Babu Owino is a young legislator and I want to appeal to senior legislators who are here, please let not this young man be thrown out of Parliament while you are watching," Atwoli said.

"Governor for Nairobi, this is your own young brother. Make sure that you reach out to the president. If he errored, that is human. Let him be forgiven so that he remains in Parliament to finish his term.

Babu in the run-up to the August 8 general elections was among opposition leaders who heavily criticised the Jubilee administration and specifically President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In one of the rallies, he ridiculed former First Lady and Uhuru's mother Mama Ngina an act that angered Uhuru leading to his arrest.

The youthful politician is expected to hit the campaign trail again ahead of the Embakasi East by-election.
