The African Union is urging Kenyans to respect the verdict of the Supreme Court on the presidential petition by NASA.
The Judiciary has confirm that the ruling will be made at 11am.
In a press statement on Thursday, AU’s Peace and Security Council told political actors and stakeholders in the August polls to desist from making irresponsible statements or engaging in actions aimed at inciting violence and destroying the prevailing peace.
The AU Council commended the manner in which the Supreme Court judges handled the presidential petition by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
During a meeting on election in Africa on August 24, the Council urged political parties to desist from resorting to the use of violence as a way of expressing their disaffection over polls outcomes, and instead, make use of available legal channels in resolving any election-related disputes.
A day after the elections, the Head of the AU observer mission, former South African President Thabo Mbeki said Kenya’s election was free and fair.
Opposition leader Mr Odinga in a message to his supporters has said life must go on, regardless of the court’s verdict.
