Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has appealed to NASA coalition leader Raila Odinga to endorse his bid to unseat president Uhuru Kenyatta since he has withdrawn from the race.
Dr Aukot in a telephone conversation interview with Radio Maisha on Tuesday morning said if be Mr Odinga still holds that he will not take part in the October 26 repeat polls, it is prudent for the opposition leader to back him so that he wins against the incumbent as he believes the move would transform the country know a great way.
"I have not spoken to him (Raila Odinga) directly but I am appealing to him to endorse if he still does not want to be in the repeat election. This will ensure that I get Uhuru out of power ad it will be a great achievement for Kenyans," said Aukot.
The constitutional lawyer however faulted IEBC for demanding that Mr Odinga fills form 24A as the only way to show he formally does not want to take part in the election terming the commission as having difficulty in understanding simple laws an legal guideline.
He said the forms have nothing to do with a repeat poll and that only willing candidates involved in the nullified elections should be allowed to contest.
Aukot who has insisted that he is ready to go into the elections noted to that IEBC had disadvantaged him warning that he will be going to the supreme Court in the event that commission fails to hold the elections in conformity to with the constitution.
"I am not going to be the elections blindly. If is a matter of trust but nothing shall stop me from going by to the supreme court if the elections are not properly conducted by IEBC," he said.
Dr Aukot together with his running mate are expected to kick off their campaigns in Taita Taveta ahead of the repeat election.
