The Thirdway Alliance Kenya leader Dr. Ekuru Aukot has insisted on his take as the official opposition leader in Kenya. The alliance is yet to launch Insist Campaign which aims at rolling out a national cohesion and civic education across the country.
tDr. Aukot had earlier stated that since the National Super Alliance coalition leader, Raila Odinga had withdrawn from the fresh elections as ordered by the supreme court, he is the official opposition leader.
After National Super Alliance coalition, as the opposition, launched their Nation Resistance Movement under the resist campaign, former presidential candidate launched the insist campaign.
Unlike NASA, the Thirdway Alliance recognizes Uhuru Kenyatta as the president of Kenya.
Through Thirdway Alliance Facebook page, the party noted that as the official opposition, their main aim is to sensitize Kenyans on their rights and peacefully make the government accountable through the Insist campaign.
“As you are all aware, 2018 is not an elections year, we shall therefore embark on an awareness campaign whose aim is to enlighten citizens on their rights and obligations and also use NON-VIOLENT means to demand accountability,” the post read.
However, NASA still demands electoral justice and independence of the Judiciary and therefore, 2018 will still be a political year as they plan on swearing in Raila as the peoples’ president.
