Speaking on Radio Maisha Tuesday, Aukot who emerged second in the October 26 repeat presidential contest noted that the nation is headed in the wrong direction politically, urging the women to consider changing the situation in the coming 2022 repeat.

''Women form 52 percent of the Kenyan population, an number enough to create change in our leadership. I challenge them to unite under a change agenda in the 2022 polls and save the nation from its historical problem of bad leadership passed down through political dynasties,'' he said.

Aukot further drummed up support for his party's ongoing push for constitutional amendment dubbed ''Punguza Mizigo'', a referendum push aimed at reducing the number of elected representatives.

The self throned opposition leader observed that the nation is losing billions of shillings through over-representation, urging Kenyans to jump on board by issuing their signatures in a move he said will save the nation over 27 billion Shillings yearly.

''The amendment will see the nation save over 27 billion shillings yearly, funds currently spent on sustaining our many elective representatives and could be channeled to other more important projects,'' said Aukot.
