Third Way Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has backed opposition's demonstrations to push for the reconstitution of the national poll body IEBC and positive response to its other pre-election demands.
Speaking on KBC TV on Sunday, Aukot said that demonstrations, protests and picketing are provided for in the constitution.
He as well cautioned the police against using excessive force while combating protesters.
''Demonstration is a constitutional right of every Kenyan who feels that it is the only way they can have their demands responded to.NASA supporters and their leaders are justified to picket and the police should use limited force to restrain them,'' he said.
He, however, said that NASA leaders are to be held accountable for instances where the practice has turned violent and chaotic saying that despite being right, peace must be observed during demonstrations.
''Although Jubilee is to be blamed for the deaths and injuries on some of the demonstrators as it is the government and is in charge of the anti-riot police, the people behind the demonstrations are equally to blame as they should advise their supporters on how to do it peacefully and avoid clashes with the police and other Kenyans,'' said Aukot.
