Speaking in a press conference at the party headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi county on Friday, the party Secretary General Fredrick Okango maintained that Odinga must apoligize to the country for putting it through a tough time with regards to his initial push for national dialogue.

He observed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader's meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, after which the two pledged to work together, is a demonstration that the dialogue was possible all along, accusing the former Premier of delaying it for personal gains.

''Raila Odinga must apoligize to Kenyans for taking them for a ride with regards to his calls for dialogue. His meeting with President Kenyatta demonstates that it was a possible ordeal after all but he decided to take the wrong approach for political achievements gains,'' said Okango.

The party also downplayed the Raila-Kenyatta pact, calling for a more organized national conversation.

According to Okango, Friday's meeting was more of a personal than a national one, urging the two to organize another convention that will include all relevant bodies.

''Their meeting was more aimed at solving their own differences than salvaging the nation from its current shortcomings. It was simply between the two individuals,'' he added.

In the meeting, that was held in President Uhuru's Harambee House offices in Nairobi, Kenyatta and Odinga decided to do away with their political animosity.
