The county government of Nakuru has announced that it will introduce the automated revenue collection systems that would secure a boost in the county’s income.
Speaking in his office in Nakuru town yesterday, deputy governor Joseph Ruto said that the automated revenue collection systems were already in effect in some parts of Nakuru town.
"We have already launched the project that is already working in some parts of Nakuru west and also Nakuru East. The programme is going to target the parking fees and the business permits in Gilgil towns, Molo, Naivasha and also Elburgon town,” Ruto said.
Ruto added that the county government has gone ahead and witnessed an increased revenue collection since it started.
“We have been able to be in a position to eliminate all the channels of corruption as there is no cash that is handled by any officers. This has gone ahead to ensure that there is transparency and also enough accountability among all the workers of the county government,” Ruto said.
The deputy governor called upon all the traders in the county to ensure that they paid their permit and levy fees so that the county could have enough funds to ensure that much needed services were provided by the county government.
“It is through this money that we are able to offer quality and standard services. We hope that this system will work and we will get support from all the people of Nakuru County,” Ruto said.
