Makutano Ward Representative Justus Kimatu has called upon youths in Mwala Sub-County to avail themselves in the police recruitment exercise.
Speaking on Thursday during a visit to Maweli location, Kimatu urged the youths between 18 and 23 years to show up in big numbers during the intake.
“Insecurity has been a major problem in our country and since our government has provided another platform to pick new recruits, eligible youth should avail themselves during the exercise,” said Kimatu.
The police recruitment exercise is set to happen on Monday April 20, 2015.
This is according to National Police Service Commission. The intake comes after the 2014 intake was cancelled following corruption allegations.
The process has however been carried out abruptly following president's orders.
This is as a result of rampant insecurity cases in the country that is alleged caused by lack of enough police officers country-wide.
