Opposition leader Raila Odinga will have a host of options to choose from should the reelection of Uhuru Kenyatta be upheld by electoral body IEBC.

Currently, Uhuru is firmly on the lead having scored over 54 percent of votes to Odinga’s unexpected 44 percent.

And having lost presidency four times, Odinga is likely to explore from a host of options to maintain his legacy as a renowned Pan Africanist.

One of the most available options is to reject the results and file a presidential petition in court just like in 2013. This option is however unlikely because he has dismissed such during campaigns.

Due to the strict constitutional timelines, Odinga is now likely to concede defeat unwillingly and retire from active politics if he will not challenge the outcome in court.

Should he retire from politics, Odinga is likely to embark on serious International missions on behalf of African Union and United Nations given his wide network.

In 2008 just moments after being appointed Prime Minister, Odinga was appointed envoy to Ivory Coast following a post election crisis.
