The leaders led by Kisii Senator Chris Obure met the president on Thursday and vowed to support his reelection bid in 2017.

Speaking to the reporter in an exclusive interview, veteran politician Nyarangi Moturi said the defectors had lost touch with the ground and were on the verge of losing their political seats in 2017 polls.

“The writings are so big on the wall that the President has missed the point. The people that he is using to garner Gusii votes have lost it on the ground and most are in the final stages in bidding politics a farewell,” he said.

“I have been moving around and what I usually hear is that they get a lot of cash from the government but in return, they divert it for their own personal gains,” added Moturi.

He also took on Obure accusing him of lack of development in the entire Gusii region even after having served as a senior government official in the past.

“People like Obure have served in the government sometimes but we never saw any meaningful development. They are just causing confusion and the president should avoid them for his own good,” he said.
