Nairobi Jubilee governor candidate Mike Sonko has condemned the violence witnessed in Juja and Thika against NASA flag-bearer  Raila Odinga.

"I condemn the on-going political violence and hooliganism. I hereby urge all Kenyans of goodwill to remain calm during the campaign period."

Raila was of Thursday forced to cut short his campaign in Thika town after rowdy youths stoned his caravan.

Police had to use teargas canisters to disperse the agitated youths who accosted the NASA leader as he addressed residents on top of his car.

"Life will and must go on after August 8. Kenyans we are one," Sonko said on Friday.
