Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has challenged local politicians to desist from engaging in smearing campaign but instead work together to improve livelihoods of locals.
Ongwae further says he is ready to face his Jubilee competitors whom terms as 'detractors' of development.
The Kisii County boss is expected to face a stiff challenge from senator Chris Obure, who ditched ODM recently and South Mugirango MP Manson Oyongo.
"Negative campaigns will not help us change the lives of our people. we should first focus on people before engaging in smearing campaigns if that is necessary i politics," he said.
Ongwae added: "I do not have any problem in facing my detractive competitors because they have nothing new to offer to us. Elections will come and go and Kisii County shall remain forever," he said
Ongwae is one of the most depandable politicians for ODM party leader Raila Odinga, who also toured the region last week during voter registration campaigns.
