Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks got another boost on Thursday after their award-winning goalkeeper Jeff Oyiemba extended his stay with the club for another three and a half years.

Oyiemba who joined Sharks as a rookie keeper rose through the ranks to establish himself as the first choice shot-stopper in the William Muluya charges in the 2017 season and was consequently awarded the Golden Gloves during the KPL/ Sports Journalists  Association of Kenya (SJAK ) awards in December.

The diminutive custodian put to rest speculations surrounding his future following the expiry of his contract after he inked the new deal that will now see him feature for the club until 2021.

"I am glad to extend my stay at Sharks and I'm praying and hoping for even better achievements with the team in the new season," he said.

He becomes the sixth player to extend his stay at Sharks after Patillah Omotto, Erick Juma, Hillary Dan, Christopher Kimathi and club captain Godfrey Shiveka who all committed to the club on Wednesday.

Sharks had a stellar 2017 campaign that saw them finish in a respectable third position behind eventual champions Gor Mahia and second place Sofapaka.

They also produced the golden boot winner through Masoud Juma who however has since joined South African side Cape Town City FC.
