Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has accused the Mombasa County government of misusing tax payers money.
He said the county has been spending money on unnecessary things such as the Mombasa Rocks Concert which was held at Nyali Golf club.
"The county government is becoming extravagant in its spending of limited resources by engaging in activities like bringing foreign musicians who add no value to the county," said Awiti said, as quoted by The Star.
The vocal MP also accused the county government paying ghost workers as well as spending huge amounts of money on travelling.
"It is important for Mombasa residents to be told what the huge wage bill has done, given that the county still reels under the burden of unemployment," he said.
However, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho dismissed the claims saying the county government did not sponsor the event in any way.
