This comes after Joho and the President disagreed publicly over projects initiated in the county.

Joho accused the Jubilee administration of taking credit for projects that were initiated by the past regime and funded by the World Bank, Swedish and French governments, under the Kenya Municipal Programme.

Mung’aro and Awiti lashed out at Joho for what they termed as engaging in petty politics.

"It is petty for a leader to criticise the President for completing projects regardless of whoever initiated them. We have had instances in the region where elected MPs have failed or refused to complete projects because they were started by their predecessor," said Mung'aro as quoted by Standard.

On his part, Awiti lauded President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for launching several projects it the county.

He, instead, accused the county’s leadership of discriminating against residents along tribal and religious lines.

"The biggest problems we have in this county is discrimination along religious and tribal lines. The county cannot account for billions it is allocated every financial year," said Awiti.
