Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has assured Mombasa residents that he will assist them in securing jobs at the Mombasa Port if elected governor in August. Speaking on Tuesday duriing the launch of the Vibrant Democratic Party, Awiti said he will not support the establishment of a dry port in Naivasha. The governor hopeful said he will find out the criteria used to employ persons at the Port in order to create room for the local population. "We also want to know the mode of selection Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has been using to employ people," he said, as quoted by the Star. The legislator also said that he is ready to work with different parties to ensure better service delivery in the five years he will be the county boss. "Besides all these, we shall partner with all stakeholders and the community and decide on better service delivery,” said Awiti. The aspirant also took a swipe at the Wiper Party for not taking his candidature seriously, arguing that the leaders were only playing games as they had already handed a direct ticket to Mombasa Senator Hassan."Many talks were held with a view td o finding a candidate. But it seems Wiper was not serious and was only keen on a cats and dogs game," he said.
