The Wiper Party think tank that was working to bring Secretary General Hassan Omar and the party’s National Treasurer Hezron Awiti together will have to think harder after the later ruled out being Omar's running mate.Awiti has appealed to the party to allow nominations, adding that he is ready to battle it out with Omar during the primaries.“I will not deputize anybody and with all due respect to my party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, I ask Hassan Omar to allow nominations to take place,” said Awiti, as quoted by the Nation.Speaking during a function at Maweni Secondary School when he issued bursaries worth Sh 27 million to needy students on Tuesday, Awiti insisted that no matter the outcome of the nominations he will stick with Wiper.“I have heard people say that I am going to defect, that’s not true. I am in Wiper to stay because this is my mother party and therefore I cannot leave my house,” he added.Awiti further denied engaging in a physical confrontation with Omar in the presence of their party patron Kalonzo Musyoka.“There were some negotiations and exchange but that is normal, there was no fighting,” Awiti said.
