Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has told Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar that he has no time to engage in verbal exchanges, adding that time has come for him to build his political career. Speaking on Thursday in response to Kalonzo’s remarks over his departure from Wiper, Awiti said he will concentrate on popularizing his political outfit and nothing else.“I’m only planning how to develop the party in which I’m a leader. I have no time for such stuff,” the Nyali MP said, as quoted by the the Star. The outspoken MP also said that he will teach Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Senator Omar a lesson in the August polls, just as he did to his rivals in 2013.“This time also they have to prepare for a shock. I am going to beat them too like in 2013 when some other people tried to frustrate me when I was vying for the Nyali seat,” said Awiti. Addressing Wiper leaders during a meeting where he welcomed Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader Wavinya Ndeti, Kalonzo said Awiti should have stayed in Wiper, adding that he wishes him well as he makes his next political step. “We wish him well. He is our brother,” said Kalonzo. Earlier on, Awiti had said that his efforts to vie for the region’s governorship had been met with resistance from different politicians led by Omar, who declared himself the best candidate to lock horns with Joho. “While in Wiper, I announced my intention to vie for governor only for another person to follow my trail just to frustrate the move," Awiti said.
