Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has said he does not intend to ditch the Wiper party which, sponsored to Parliament.
He said he will ride on the party's popularity in Coast to vie for a political seat in Mombasa County in 2017.
He has indicated that he will contest against Governor Hassan Joho during next year's elections.
"I don't intend to leave Wiper party for now," he said on Facebook.
Interestingly, however, Wiper, just like Joho's ODM is a Cord affiliate party.
The MP has been loggerheads with Mr Joho who he accuses of running down Mombasa County.
He claims the governor has done little to help the people in the county to realise development.
During celebrations to mark Jamhuri Day his supporters and those of Joho fought.
Awiti has remained one of Mr Joho's greatest critics in Mombasa.
