Homabay governor Cyprian Awiti has urged the county's constituents to back his re-election bid during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday, the County Chief admitted that his first term was a flop, pledging to oversee transformational leadership if re-elected.
"I have learned from my mistakes for the last four years. I can assure Homa Bay residents that it will not be business as usual,'' he said.
He further challenged his political rivals to unite with him for the benefit of the county.
"I hereby extend an olive branch to my competitors to unite with us so that we develop the county," he said.
"The people have spoken. It is time to work together for our sole goal of Raila becoming the President. Let us put our differences aside now," he added.
The governor is set to vie on an ODM party ticket, following his controversial win against his closest rival and Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga during the party primaries.
Awiti garnered 150,000 votes against Magwanga's 89,000 votes.
Magwanga is set to vie as an independent candidate.
