Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate, Ferdinand Waititu has called for 'cleaning ' in the public sector.
Speaking on Monday at Lower Kabete, Waititu urged the government to hasten the charges of those implicated in economic crimes.
“Those conspiring to commit economic crimes and fraudulently acquiring public resources should face axes,” said Waititu.
Waititu's remarks come in the wake of charges facing former senior government officers and business moguls in Anglo Leasing Scandal.
Waititu, who is vying for the Kabete parliamentary seat nominations on the Jubilee Alliance party (JAP), said that the fight against corruption should be tightened to stem out corruption completely.
“Any one complicated in corruption should go home to create a free -corrupt nation,” said Waititu.
The former Embakasi lawmaker said the fight against corruption should also intensified to the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
PAC, the Ababu Namwamba led-committee, has been on the spotlight over bribery claims by its members.
Waititu also accused international entities of denying local employment opportunities.
“Companies from China should only employ foreign specialists and absorb locals in other departments,” said Waititu.
The former legislator said that if elected, he would tackle the problems facing Kabete residents.
“Kabete constituency needs a visionary leader, who will work on education and health sectors and infrastructure developments,” said Waititu.
He further said he would empower women and youth achieve their dreams.
The Kabate parliamentary seat was left vacant following the assassination of former MP George Muchai.
