You can easily mistake him for a common Arab oldie in the event that you are lucky enough to meet him in the streets of Nakuru town.
Very few people can identify him first-hand, despite topping the list of the richest men in the lakeside town, as far as wealth is concerned.
His name is Said Abdalla Azubedi, only known to many as 'Azubedi', a filthy rich man who would rather look like a beggar, and whose everything points at poverty unless you have a deeper knowledge of him.
Though he owns massive property throughout Nakuru, including the Gikomba Complex which houses hundreds of business stalls and other real estate businesses, Azubedi is yet to move out of Bondeni Slums which almost entirely belongs to him.
At his age, he forms the list of the earliest risers in Nakuru, and is on most occasions on his way to his Tabarak Cafe within the CBD by dawn, aboard his 1971 Peugeot 504 Break, which is almost giving up due to old age.
He would beat me back during my schooling days as I trekked to Moi Secondary School from Kaloleni Estate, with the car which I never thought would see the next year giving in to commands from his trusted driver who also doubles up as his old lorry's driver when he gets to work.
At the cafe right next to the Shabab matatu terminal, he sits at the cashier's desk with his eyes set out, as he watches Nakuru's latecomers struggling to make ends meet, and spends the most of his time dozing.
You can easily mistake him for an old employee in the tiny but ever busy hotel due to his shoddy clothing, but is actually a tycoon.
Though said to own housing units in the posh Milimani estate, Azubedi's Bondeni home is actually a makeshift habitat which was initially a Cocacola soda depot before he adopted it, with the red Cocalola paintings and branding still visible on the gate and fence.
Though not so generous to himself, he is a known giver and has been hailed for his contribution during Islamic events and considered one of the biggest contributors during Iftars and Islamic holidays.
However, he is equally not so generous on giving interviews and having his pictures taken.
