[Photo: The Star]Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu alias Baba Yao has discouraged Jubilee supporters from falling 'prey to tricks' by opposition NASA by holding counter-demonstrations.Waititu told residents to keep away from demos to counter NASA anti-IEBC protests and instead guard their property against destruction, reports the Star. This is a complete about-turn by Waititu who had last month warned NASA supporters that their street demonstrations would be met by equally prepared Jubilee protestors."I dare them to go to the streets and we shall also show them that Jubilee has better demonstrators. If they dare throw stones at us, we shall show them we are better in that than they are," Waititu had said in September. But a month later, the governor is out again talking in a 'sober' tone."Do not join these protests since what NASA leader Raila Odinga is doing is to tempt you to demonstrate like his people. He wants to use demos so that the international community can assist him to broker a caretaker government," Waititu said on Saturday while campaigning for President Uhuru in Gatundu North constituency, as quoted by The Star.Baba Yao also urged residents to leave their activities for a while on October 26t and vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta 'since he is the only presidential candidate with a clear development agenda and a proven track record'.He was accompanied by MPs Wanjiku Kibe (Gatundu North), Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Jonah Mburu (Lari) and Githua wa Machukuru (Kabete). The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 86 percent on August 8 bungled presidential poll.
