NASA top leadership has demanded the immediate release of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Owino was arrested over a recent incident in Nairobi's Westlands where is accused of assaulting a security guard.

NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula said the detention was “unlawful.”

He also demanded that the 10 students from the University of Nairobi arrested protesting Babu's arrest be released too.

“It’s unfortunate that we are back to the draconian rule of law, Jubilee needs to stop misusing the police by detaining Owino unlawfully,” Wetangula said.

The Ford Kenya leader was accompanied by Raila Odinga and other NASA chiefs.
