Embakasi East Member of Parliament on Thursday, during his swearing in, added Raila Odinga and the word ‘Tibim’ to his oath.

The controversial former Sonu chairman, after swearing allegiance to the Republic of Kenya, added Mr Odinga’s name, but was ordered by Clerk of the National Assembly Michaek Sialai, to re-take the oath.

Mr Sialai asked the MPs to take the oath as prescribed in the Constitution.

All the 67 senators have taken oath of office at the Senate chambers.

Earlier, MPs allied to the opposition Nasa had threatened to boycott the session.

They, however, on Wednesday reached a consensus to attend the swearing in ceremony.

Among those sworn in was 23-year-old Igembe South MP Paul Mwirigi, who trounced political heavyweights during the polls.
