Vocal and controversial University of Nairobi leader, Babu Owino has been arrested.
Owino is being held at the Kilimani police Station after making remarks that were deemed as hate speech.
Owino who is the president of the Students Organisation of Nairobi University was caught on camera threatening Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria on Monday.
Owino’s threats to Kuria come after the MP ordered the assassination of Cord leader, Raila Odinga during a Sunday rally at the Kasarani Stadium.
The statement by the MP got a lot of backlash from the public and government leaders.
Owino is currently at the Kilimani Police Station where he is to record a statement.
Hundreds of his Nairobi University colleagues pitched camp along Valley Road demanding for Owino's immediate release.
This arrest comes barely a month after the leader was arrested for assaulting his opponent, Mike Jacobs.
