Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has claimed that his life is in danger.
On Wednesday, Owino alleged that Jubilee members encouraged his opponent Francis Mureithi to petition his win after several death threats failed.
“Jubilee has opted to push one Mureithi to file a petition against me after plans to slow me down through death threats failed,” he said.
Babu Owino beat Francis Mureithi in the August 8th polls after collecting 33,760 votes to Mureithi’s 31,511.
According to reports, Mureithi submitted a petition to the High Court challenging Babu’s win.
During a National Super Alliance rally in Mathare, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho stated that Owino will work as an agent in Kiambu ahead of the upcoming elections.
Mureithi was accused of voter bribery during the campaign season after a video emerged of him giving out packets of maize to Embakasi residents.
