Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino claims the Jubilee government is trying to rig the ongoing votes recount for the parliamentary seat.
In an Instagram post on Saturday evening, the MP said there were plans to stuff ballot papers into ballot boxes to ensure his opponent, Francis Mureithi, wins the vote recount.
Justice Joseph Sergon on Tuesday last week ordered for scrutiny and a recount of votes cast in the Embakasi East Constituency during the August 8 General Election.
In his application, Mureithi, who lost to Owino, said there were various sets of results contained in the forms.
"The government is planning to raid the go down at Industrial area where the ballot boxes are apparently securely stored, the main objective is to stuff ballot papers with an intention to overturn the will of the people. As you are aware I have been consistently leading in the vote recount against my unworthy opponent with over 10,000 votes. I will personally sleep at the go down and urge NASA supporters to join me on the go down which is along Likoni road from 9 pm till dawn," Owino posted.
Through lawyer Ham Lagat, Mureithi said some of the forms were not legible and that no one could determine if the results in form 35 A correspond with those in form 35 B.
He also claimed there were instances of inflation of votes cast in favour of Owino and a deflation of his own.
