University of Nairobi SONU Chairman Babu Owino has been charged with incitement.
Owino was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly threatening Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
The controversial student leader however denied the charges and applied to be released on bail.
The prosecution wants him denied bail over claims of interference with investigations.
Kuria was on Sunday caught on camera allegedly calling for the assassination of Cord principal Raila Odinga during a rally at the Kasarani Stadium.
The MP is currently being held at Pangani police station along side five other legislatures over hate speech.
Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua and her Kilifi counterpart Aisha Jumwa are being held at the Muthaiga police station over similar allegations.
The court will rule on Owino's bail application today (Thursday).
