The Nacada chairman John Mututho has asked the EACC, Central Bank and police to investigate University of Nairobi students leader Babu Owino's source of money.
The call by NACADA boss follows pictures making the rounds on social media of Babu Owino holding a gun and a briefcase of dollars.
"I'm calling upon the Kenya police, the CIA to trace the source of those dollars and the gun. We have seen him issuing cash to students during elections. Where does he get all that money,” Mututho said.
Mututho said urgent measures need to be taken against to address drugs menace at the university.
"The drug menace in this institution is very worrying. I thank the Vice Chancellor for admitting the drugs problem," he said.
Mututho called for investigations on student leaders over drug dealing.
“The next step is to demolish all illegal structures next to all universities as this is where drugs are sold,” he added.
The University of Nairobi has two satellite campuses in Kiambu County which also Mututho wants investigated over drugs menace.
