The decision by ODM leader Raila Odinga to mend fences with President Uhuru Kenyatta worked to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's advantage.
Caught between political fireworks of NASA and Jubilee, Owino had his election nullified in what he insists was political witch-hunt.
At Citizen TV on Monday, Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili, lauded Raila for rescuing him from 'political prison'.
"I had not case. It was just politically instigated and we needed a political solution. After the recount, irregularities did not affect the final outcome," he said.
"I had a bad working relationship with President Uhuru and i am happy he reconciled with Raila. My problem was solved by the handshake," he said in indirect reference to Uhuru's external interference.
Before the Friday's appeals's court victory, Owino had apologised to Uhuru in more than one occasion even using Francis Atwoli to pass his message.
During the interview, Owino insisted that he shall be contesting Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022 polls.
