President Uhuru Kenyatta says he is reliably informed of planned violence in Kayole, Embakasi East during Thursday’s presidential repeat poll.
Already, the main opposition candidate Raila Odinga has withdrawn from the race, citing incompetence from within the electoral body which he accuses of bungling August 8th elections.
Without mentioning the name of the outspoken MP, Uhuru insisted that Babu Owino will know ‘there are men in this country’.
“I have been informed about planned violence in Kayole and I do not want to name the area MP. Let him try what he is planning and he will know there are men in this country,” he said.
He further added: “He should insult me the way he wants but we cannot allow him to cause violence on innocent people.”
Early this month, Owino was arraigned in court for allegedly insulting Uhuru, a move that led to chaos in the University of Nairobi when students went to streets to demand his release.
At Kisii during NASA rally on Monday, Owino maintained that he will ensure elections do not take place in his constituency.
